"On the day you were born your umbilical cord was not cut, nor were you washed clean with water; you were not rubbed with salt nor wrapped in baby blankets. No one looked on you with pity to do any of these things out of compassion for you. Indeed, you were thrown out into the open field, and rejected on the day of your birth.
But when I passed by and saw you struggling in your own blood, I said, 'You will live!' — I told you you would live while you were yet lying in your own blood.
And so I helped you to thrive like a plant in the field. You grew, matured, and became very beautiful. Your breasts developed, your hair grew, but you were still naked.
Again, I passed by and looked at you, and by this time you were of marriagable age. So I spread my wing over you and covered your nakedness. I pledged myself to you and entered into an agreement with you, and you became mine.
I washed all your blood away with water and rubbed you with lotion. I clothed you in embroidered cloth and put badgerskin sandals on your feet. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you in silk. I adorned you with ornaments, putting bracelets on your wrists, and a necklace around your neck. I set a jewel in your nose, earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head.
And so you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothes were of fine linen, silk, and embroidered cloth. You ate bread of fine flour, honey, and oil. You were very beautiful. I made you heir to my throne, and your fame spread to other countries because of your beauty. Your beauty was exquisite because of the splendor I bestowed upon you."
